Iron, Steel and Non-ferrous metal production
Lodge Cottrell supply a wide range of air pollution control systems to various parts of the steel-making process.
These include; dry ESPs for the converters – where the large quantities of hot gas released contain high concentrations of dust and carbon monoxide. In the dedusting facility, both coarse and fine dust particles are efficiently removed. In a second step, the CO-rich gas is recovered and stored in a gasholder for subsequent energy utilisation.
Wet ESPs maybe used on the Scarfing Process as part of the continous casting process or detarring syngas from the coke plant. In such cases the ESP is cleaned by gravity or water washing.
Blast furnaces, converters, mills, coke and sinter plants, slag treatment, fume exhaust systems, etc.
